Name: Zack Fair Door: Door Pass Canon: Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core Canon Point: End of Game Age: 23 Appearance: Here History: Here CR AU (Optional): none Personality: Positive Trait: Heroic The emphasis on the word hero to describe Zack Fair is important because it is central to his personality. Zack’s literal, spoken goal is to become a hero and protect people. He doesn’t seem to have any ambition in life beyond helping people. Fame doesn’t even appear to factor into this goal much, since Zack is weirded out when he learns that he has his own fan club. For Zack, doing good is its own reward. Over the course of his life Zack has done many heroic things of all sizes. He’s fought hard to make his friends not feel like monsters in the past, to right the wrongs of a cruel company and scientist who created awful experiments at the cost of his own life. One of the most heroic moments of Zack’s life was when he and Cloud were trying to escape from ShinRa’s clutches and escape to Midgar to go into hiding. They had almost made it to the major city and were going to become mercenaries for hire as was Zack’s plan but there was an army of gunman blocking their path. Cloud was comatose and Zack gave up his own life protecting his friend who couldn’t fight even if he wanted to in that moment. It is Zack’s sacrifice which led to the Cloud who became a hero, he continued Zack’s legacy. Zack will always help someone even if he will get hurt in the process, the needs of others always will be first and foremost than his own. He never does it for any other reason then he wants to help everyone he meets and by doing this he embraces his own dreams of being a hero. Negative Trait: Naïve Naïve can sometimes be a cute trait but being naïve and clueless about things has led to Zack rethinking who really are the good guys and who are the bad guys. As a kid he always wanted to be a hero and so he ran into the ShinRa military as soon as he could. His hopes and dreams clouded his judgment and he never really questioned any of the authoritative figures he worked for. Zack is a man who gets orders and for the most part does what he’s told. It is only when those orders are to hurt people he cares about that he starts to refuse but not out of knowledge, only from his want to not hurt those he cares about. Zack ends up meeting many important people like the Turks who know far more than they ever let on to him and Aerith who is one of the last Cetra and incredibly important to the world as a whole but he blindly trusts people because of his naivety and his want to see the best in people. He even at one point helps Hojo test out monsters that were experimented on just because he was asked to in a very obvious manipulative way. Hojo took advantage of him and Zack just went along with it not really thinking anything of it. There is only one time we see Zack acknowledge his own blind trust of ShinRa and his naivety and it is when he is talking to Cloud in Nibelheim that he laments over having just followed SOLDIER orders mindlessly. Being a naïve dominant is going to be a big learning experience for Zack as any strong willed submissive can easily use his help good nature to get things they want from him without much work. Negative Trait: Stubborn Stubbornness as a Dominant could be a good thing but in this case it’s a negative. Zack will not do anything he doesn’t believe in or thinks of as honorable. Angeal his mentor drilled it into him that honor was important and no matter what happened in his life, he followed his own version of what honor meant to him. In Duplicity he sees the idea of taking a persons rights away and declaring them lesser than others as something horrible and is going to work his hardest against that, even if it means he might get in trouble a lot. When he first learned of his beloved mentor, Angeal’s betrayal of leaving him in SOLDIER he didn’t believe it. It took a few missions before he finally accepted being left behind and even then he was still being stubborn and not wanting to harm his ex-mentor. He even went so far as yelling at Sephiroth who was the general of the military about not wanting to do a mission where he’d have to hurt Angeal. His stubbornness comes out of love but it always hurts Zack the most and he carries that scar on his face everyday. Angeal eventually gained a wing which he called a mark of being a monster and Zack ever the stubborn man continued to say he wasn’t a monster. It was until Angeal truly became a monster from merging with copies of himself that Zack finally had to reluctantly slay his mentor and gained the scar on his cheek. He still looks for a way Angeal could come back to him to this day and won’t ever give up on upholding his dreams and honor. Negative Trait: Impulsive Being named ‘Puppy’ usually isn’t something negative but in this case and over energetic little puppy can be. Zack’s normal impatience levels are pretty low on a good day. To show his impulsiveness, Zack left his parents without a note to join the ShinRa military at only 13 which was much too young because he was so eager to become a hero and thus had to lie about his age to get in. He’s always eager to show off or make a name for himself most of the time that it leads to him making hasty decisions and acting on his impulses he gets himself and others in trouble. One such person who knows how Impulsive Zack is, is Genesis. He constantly urges on Zack to attack him and fight his clones while Genesis himself makes an escape to go cause trouble elsewhere. It’s very often that Zack gets misdirected because he’s so easy to just fight at the first sign of it rather than stop to think of a plan of action. After he escapes from being captured by Hojo this does cool down a bit and he does start to try to make plans but his impulsiveness is still there and he forever is the puppy of SOLDIER. Powers and Abilities: Swordsmanship, hand to hand combat and blue mage abilities. Zack has the innate ability to see someone else use a skill and find his own unique way to copy it. In Duplicity he will still be very strong though his healing is not going to be as good as it was. Due to the mako and Jenova cells in his body he is immune to most alcoholic drinks and getting sick but that doesn’t mean some weird sickness might get to him either. While he is stronger than most he won't be able to knock anyone out with just a touch but he can do some serious damage when fighting hand to hand. Give him a sword and Zack will be able to protect almost anyone. He does have glowing eyes thanks to the Mako and his senses of smell, sight and hearing are all heightened thanks to it.
